Meet The Team

Cheryl St. Don
Fin's Mom & Team Ringleader
As the proud mother of Finian, Cheryl founded the Finian Summit Foundation to honor her son’s extraordinary spirit and carry forward the legacy of love, courage, and compassion he left behind. What began as a deeply personal journey through unimaginable loss has grown into a mission to uplift, support, and walk alongside families facing similar paths. With a heart rooted in empathy and a drive fueled by Fin’s light, Cheryl is dedicated to creating a space where no family feels alone—and where hope can rise, even in the hardest moments.

Jamis Medeiros
Fin's Dad & IT Support
As Finian’s dad and the proud holder of far too many trail maps, Jamis brings a mix of heart, humor, and well-worn hiking boots to the foundation. When he’s not working to support families navigating life’s toughest climbs, you’ll likely find him on a mountain trail—where he feels closest to Fin, and where the best snack breaks happen. With a deep love for the outdoors and an even deeper love for his son, Jamis is on a mission to help families find moments of peace, connection, and even laughter along the way.

Amanda Brait
Fin's Day Nurse & BFF
As Finian’s daytime nurse and best friend, Amanda shared a bond with Fin that was truly one-of-a-kind. From the classroom to his home playmat filled with LEGO bricks, their days were full of laughter, teamwork, arts & crafts (e.g., tie dye) and imaginative adventures. She wasn’t just part of his care team—she was part of his world. Today, Amanda brings that same heart, joy, and fierce devotion to the foundation, helping families feel supported, seen, and never alone. Through every story shared and every connection made, she keeps Fin’s light shining bright.

Fin's Friends & Family Advocates
As Finian’s nighttime nurse, Karen brought warmth, creativity, and a whole lot of fun to Fin and his crew’s daily routine. Lovingly nicknamed the “Cruise Ship Director,” she was the mastermind behind countless activities that filled the home with laughter and connection. She and Fin shared a hilarious relationship—equal parts teasing and tenderness, with just the right amount of side eyes and giggles. As the family’s official historian, she never missed a moment, always ready with a camera to capture the magic in the mayhem. Now, through the foundation, Karen continues to turn everyday moments into meaningful memories—just the way Fin would’ve liked it (even if he’d pretend not to).
Affectionately known as “#4,” Mike earned his title as the fourth most important guy in Amanda’s life—right behind her two sons and, of course, Fin. Mike quickly became a beloved part of the extended care crew. Whether it was joining in on family fun - dressing as Grover for Halloween, tagging along for memorable theme park or brewery visits with Fin, he brought steady support, great energy, and a whole lot of love. And, as a true badge of honor, Fin finally agreed to make him a tie-dye shirt—a clear sign he’d earned his place. Today, Mike doesn't just sit on the sidelines—he plays an active role in the foundation, helping bring joy, connection, and a bit more organization to everything the team does/plans.
During Fin’s life, Jess and Marty were steadfast sources of support for the family, always there to offer comfort, guidance, and spiritual grounding when it was needed most. They weren't just friends—they were pillars of strength, helping Fin's parents navigate the challenges of illness with unwavering compassion, prayer and dedication. Now, through the foundation, Jess and Marty continue to carry forward that same level of care and advocacy. Their deep commitment to supporting families facing difficult journeys remains at the heart of everything they do, ensuring that the same love, faith and support they offered during Fin’s life are available to others who need it most.

Reuth was with Fin from his very first day to his last - his OG - always offering expert care and a compassionate heart throughout his life. As his dedicated cardiologist and health advocate, she not only guided his medical journey but also provided unwavering support to the entire family. Today, Reuth continues to honor Fin’s legacy by serving as a liaison for the foundation, helping identify families in need of support. Her deep commitment to ensuring that families facing similar challenges receive the care and resources they deserve is a true reflection of the love and dedication she showed to Fin and his family.
As one of Fin’s dedicated CICU nurses, and devoted buddy, Gina was not only an expert in his care, but also a shining light during his hospital stays, always finding ways to lift his spirits with her infectious positivity. Whether it was her knack for turning tough moments into laughter or giving Fin the occasional "spa day," she brought joy and comfort in the most caring, creative ways. Her dedication to Fin and his family was unmatched, and today, she continues to carry that love forward as a liaison for the foundation. In this role, she helps identify families in need of support, ensuring that they receive the same warmth, care, and attention she gave Fin throughout his journey.
